1. How long do sessions last?

Typically, counseling visits are offered in 60-minute sessions. Sometimes counselors will suggest longer sessions or a marriage intensive if they feel it will help expedite progress.

2. How many sessions will I need?

Your counselor will work with you to determine the number of sessions recommended based on your specific situation, although your total investment is often not known at the onset of counseling.

3. What type of counseling do you offer?

Our counselors focus primarily on marriage counseling and preparing engaged couples for their upcoming marriage. In the context of marriage counseling, we frequently address individual issues of depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, fear, etc… A few of our counselors specialize in addressing these types of issues on an individual basis.

4. Can I come without my spouse?

Our process is most effective when a husband and wife start and attend all counseling sessions together. However, there are some cases where we might request to meet with one spouse alone for a portion of a session or for an entire session to address more sensitive issues. If you are currently separated or if your spouse is unwilling to come to counseling, please reach out to us and we will work with you to determine the best next steps.

5. What if I’m from out of town?

We do offer virtual sessions through SKYPE or another similar service. And, we offer 2 day marriage intensives in our Woodlands, TX office that is often a great start to an on-going long distance counseling relationship.

6. How much do sessions cost?

Our fees vary based on the experience and professional level of each counselor and are typically set between $75 and $125 an hour. However, Marriage Revolution is a donor supported non-profit ministry that strives to never let money stand in the way of a couple getting the help they need. Your first session fee is fixed, but if your financial situation requires assistance for future sessions please discuss this with your counselor in your first session.

7. What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash, check, and credit / debit cards, but prefer credit / debit card transactions to minimize our administrative responsibilities associated with processing cash and check transactions.
